Mayim-Mayim, Ricky Holden, and Japanese video games

Listening to PRI's The World on the radio, I heard familiar music and an interesting story -- it starts at about time 40:25:

It refers to this article "How an Israeli Folk Song Became A Hit on Japanese Video Game Soundtracks":
http://www.tabletmag.com/scroll/242738/jewcy-mayim-mayim
"...Seriously, everyone in Japan knows “Mayim Mayim.”
"How did this happen? It began in the post-WWII occupation of Japan, led by General Douglas MacArthur. As part of the (admittedly somewhat forced) cultural exchange, the United States decided to teach the youth in Asia folk dances. They enlisted the aid of Rickey Holden, a prominent square and folk dance-caller, scholar, and educator..."
If you search for "Mayim Mayim Anime" in youtube, you find an amazing number of clips:

Israeli Folk Dance Camp "Hora Eclipse" Aug 18-21, 2017

Received in e-mail:

Message from Murray and Randi Spiegel (NJ)

Hi Guys:
We're involved with a dance camp that's scheduled around this summer's
total solar eclipse.

Next August, there's going to be a total solar eclipse conveniently
located in the US. It's the first total in the US in nearly 40 years,
and the first one to go coast-to-coast in 99 years.

If you've seen a partial eclipse ... or a lunar eclipse ...
this is nothing like that: viewing a total solar is an awesome,
life-changing experience.

A friend is organizing a great two-fer: a dance camp plus a great location
to see the eclipse.

It's primarily an Israeli dance camp, but many non-Israeli dancers
will come, so we'll be running several international segments too.

I urge you consider coming to the camp, enjoying some international
dancing and the eclipse: http://www.hora-eclipse.com

Remember to tell people: When you register, be sure to indicate
you're interested in International Dance!

Thanks,
Murray and Randi Spiegel
