Not meeting tonight Fri Jan 24, 2020 - Fog & Snow

Given the unfortunate forecast for this evening (screen capture above from weather.gov ), we are regretfully cancelling our  Friday night dancing in Downers Grove for the second week in a row.  Hope everybody can stay home & safe, and that next week's weather is better.

Univ of Chicago Folk Festival Feb 14-15 2020

Here's something to do on Valentine's Day weekend:
http://uofcfolk.org
The 60th annual University of Chicago Folk Festival
Concert Friday Feb 14, 8pm, at Mandel Hall, 1131 E. 57th St. Chicago, IL 60637; workshops Saturday Feb 15, 10am-5pm, at Ida Noyes Hall, 1212 E 59th St, Chicago, IL 60637.

The schedule & details aren't finalized on the website yet, but we've heard that Chicago Spelmanslag will be playing for Scandinavian dancing taught by John Parrish at a Saturday morning workshop.

The Chicago chapter of the American Recorder Society will also have a Saturday morning session, if you want to play or learn about recorders.

Not meeting tonight Friday Jan 17, 2020 - Snow!

We will *NOT* be meeting tonight for dancing in Downers Grove, because it's already started snowing, and there's a winter weather advisory, and it just doesn't look like a good idea to go out tonight.  Hope nobody will be too disappointed to stay home & safe tonight.  Hope for better weather next week.
