Articles about exercise and COVID, masks

There was an article in yesterday's Chicago Tribune (sourced from the New York Times) with the headline "Eyeing the Future of Group Exercise".  Here's a clipping:

Both the Trib and the NYT have paywalls, but here are links to a couple of other articles about the same thing, if you don't have the necessary subscriptions:

I suppose the recommendation of "proper air circulation" means that we couldn't complain when a certain person-who-shall-remain-nameless opens the window in the dead of winter 😀  Assuming we are meeting in person again by then...

There are also lots of articles about wearing masks during exercise, here are a few:

Dance floors tend to be sweaty places for a reason. All of those shimmies and shakes burn energy like you wouldn’t believe—and come with many other surprising health benefits, too. When you cut a rug, you can expend more than 300 calories every half-hour, according to a report from the University of Brighton in the UK. That meets or exceeds the amount of energy you burn during an easy run or swim, the report shows. Even relatively tame forms of dance burn about the same number of calories as...  Read the full story

BBC: Dancing robots reveal cultural cues

Seems like this study is related to what we call "the folk process" and "we do it differently in our village" :-)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-18352293

"Prior to being let loose, some of the robots had been programmed to perform different dances - essentially an intricate series of movements.
The researchers planned to find out how culture and shared behavioural traditions got passed on by studying how the robots told each other about these dances."
