From Mary AllsoppScandinavian Jam Tunes from February (and prior Scandinavian Jams) are now posted. The .PDF file lists which tunes were played and taught for each month. Here's the link for tunes and the tune list:
Saturday, March 3 Finnish fiddler Arto Jarvela and Kaivama come to the Fiddle Club of the World (hosted by our own Paul Tyler). Tunes taught will likely be incorporated into the jam... especially if you fall in love with one and request it! Here's more info: http://oldtownschool.org/connect/fiddleclub
Friday - Sunday, March 9-11 Swedish music & dance retreat at Folklore Village, Dodgeville WI. I highly recommend this event, even though it conflicts with the monthly jam. Retreat includes dance and music workshops on Friday, Saturday as well as Sunday morning, plus reviews on Sunday. Opportunities to dance and jam and to fill your ears with the dance and music of Sweden. http://folklorevillage.org/t2/calendar#Cultural%20Retreats
Thursday March 22, concert with Bruce Molsky and Ale Moller at Old Town School. Ale is a fantastic Swedish fiddler who collaborates with many musical styles. From the description, I would expect this concert to have more of an American than Swedish flavor. http://www.oldtownschool.org/concerts/2012/3/22_molsky.php
