NPR: Alan Lomax's Massive Archive Goes Online
Heard part of this story on NPR this morning:
http://www.npr.org/blogs/therecord/2012/03/28/148915022/alan-lomaxs-massive-archive-goes-online
Following the link in the article, I see one can click on "Culture" to arrive here:
http://research.culturalequity.org/get-audio-ix.do?ix=culture&id=0&idType=0&sortBy=abc
And (for example), click on "Balkar" to arrive here:
http://research.culturalequity.org/rc-b2/get-audio-ix.do?ix=recording&id=34&idType=cultureId&sortBy=abc
Where the first song "Taulu Kyz" translates to "Mountain Girl" (Rose should like that one :-) )
And following the link for Radio Shows, I find this one:

Thank-you for Ellen memorial from Morton Arboretum
When Rose collected donations for the Naperville Riverwalk Tree in memory of Ellen there was some money left over, which was donated to the Morton Arboretum, another place that Ellen liked. Here is the thank-you letter that Rose got from them (click on it to enlarge for readability)

Eurovision: Buranovo Grannies
Cindy, who used to dance with us years ago, sent this link that reminded her of folk dancing:
Eurovision 2012: 'Buranovo Grannies' to represent Russia
