Milwaukee Folk Fair Nov 19-21

Milwaukee's Holiday Folk Fair, always the weekend before Thanksgiving,
offers several opportunities for dancing to Milwaukee's outstanding folk
orchestras, as well as authentic ethnic food, a world market, and dance
performances by dozens of the city's vibrant ethnic groups -- more than
fifty participate in the city's flagship ethnic festival, a tradition for
more than half a century!

              Friday,  November 19
5:00 - 9:30   Bob Breuer Polka Band at the Music Pavilion.

             Saturday,  November 20
1:00 - 3:00   ETHNICTRICITY at the Coffeehouse.
6:00 -10:00  ORKESTAR SLOBODA at the Music Pavilion.
    Dance performances alternate with public participation dancing
        throughout the evening at the Music Pavilion.
10:30 - 2:00am  AFTER-PARTY with music by IZVOR ORCHESTRA
   on fine wood floor at the Legion Post, 9159 W. Beloit Road
        (SE corner of 92nd St. & Beloit Rd. in West Allis).
   This is south & a little west of State Fair Park, same venue as in past.
   There is a modest cover charge for the after-party.

2:30 - 6:00   PRAZNA FLASA at the Music Pavilion.

The Folk Fair is in a single spacious hall with adjacent surface parking at
southwest corner of State Fair Park (84th St. and Greenfield Avenue) in West
Allis, immediately south of I-94 at the 84th Street exit.
Admission is $10 (children & seniors $8, under 5 free).

Legendary Romany Reedist Ferus Mustafov Makes a Rare Visit | The Reader Blog
Mustafov makes a couple of rare appearances in the area this weekend...for both he's performing with Detroit-based Macedonian band Alpina. On Friday night he's at the Sts. Kiril & Metodij Macedonian Orthodox Church in Willowbrook (91st and Route 83/Kingery Road) and on Saturday he's at the Sts. Peter and Paul Macedonian Orthodox Church in Crown Point, Indiana (9660 Broadway); both concerts start at 7 PM.
